The ohm, named after German physicist Georg Ohm, is the unit of measurement of electrical resistance. The ohm represents one of three components of a fundamental principal of electrical circuits called Ohm’s Law, which is the mathematical relationship between electric current (amps), resistance (ohms) and voltage (volts).
